Back to Brick: A Full House Renovation on Longton Hall Road

This full house renovation on Longton Hall Road in Stoke-on-Trent was for one of our longest-standing customers. They own several properties across the area, and over the years we’ve looked after all of them, from heating and plumbing to electrics and general building work. So when they bought a new home of their own just across the street, they already knew who they wanted to call.

The house needed a complete back to brick renovation, with every room stripped right back before the work of rebuilding it could begin. Having one team handle every trade meant the project could move smoothly from one stage to the next, in line with our customer’s plans.

Getting the structure right first

Before any of the finishing work could start, we made sure the building itself was sound. Load-bearing steel beams were fitted where walls were being moved or opened up, giving the house the support it needs for years to come. We also fitted new external doors at the front and back, which add security and help keep the heat in during the colder months.
The windows were assessed one by one, and where they had reached the end of their life we replaced them with new uPVC double glazing. By only replacing the ones that needed it, our customer’s budget went towards the work that would make the biggest difference to the house.

A fresh start for every room

With the whole house back to brick, we had a clean slate to fit new pipework, plumbing and electrics exactly where they were needed. This is one of the real advantages of a full renovation, as everything can be planned around how the home will actually be used, from socket positions to where each radiator sits.

Once the services were in place, every wall was re-plastered, primed and painted, and new internal doors were hung throughout. The result is a house that feels consistent and finished from the moment you walk through the front door.

Warm, efficient heating for the whole house

A new boiler from a recognised brand now heats the house, along with new radiators fitted throughout. Our Gas Safe registered engineers installed and commissioned the full system, so our customer can be confident their heating is safe, efficient and ready for winter.

A kitchen built around modern living

The kitchen needed the most change. We moved internal walls and doors to open up the space and create a layout that works for a modern kitchen, then fitted sleek white gloss cabinets that keep the room feeling bright and open. All the plumbing and electrics behind it were installed and checked by our own team, so everything works exactly as it should.

Making the most of a downstairs shower room

Many older houses were built with the bathroom downstairs, often just off the kitchen. Our customer chose to keep it there, leaving more space upstairs for bedrooms, and asked us to create a shower room that makes the most of it.

We fitted marble effect PVC panels, which look great and are quick to wipe clean, alongside sage green shaker style cabinets that give plenty of storage. A matching toilet and vanity basin unit keeps the style consistent, and a waterfall walk-in shower completes the room.

We sourced and installed everything, right down to the chrome square handles on the cupboard doors, so our customer didn’t have to chase a single part or supplier.

Bedrooms with personality

Upstairs, each bedroom has new electrics and lighting and warm walnut laminate flooring. Our customer chose a different look for each one, so their personality really comes through. One has a dusty green feature wall, another a lovely deep burgundy, and the main room has been kept mostly neutral with the green coming through too. Each room is now ready for its finishing touches, whether it becomes a bedroom, a home office or even a dressing room.

Qualified, accredited and certified

Every part of this project was carried out by our own qualified team. Gas work was completed by Gas Safe registered engineers, and all electrical work was installed and certified by NAPIT approved electricians to the current UK wiring regulations (BS 7671).

Together, these give our customers peace of mind that every job meets British safety standards and is done properly from the start.
