This annual safety campaign aims to increase awareness of gas safety and emphasise the importance of maintaining your gas appliances in top condition. Gas Safety Week is coordinated by the Gas Safe Register, the official list of qualified gas engineers legally authorised to work on gas appliances.
Gas appliances, if not properly fitted or regularly serviced , can pose serious risks such as gas leaks, fires, explosions, and the silent threat of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. Carbon monoxide is a deadly gas that can take lives without warning, as it’s invisible, odourless, and tasteless.

Check for Warning Signs
Look out for signs of malfunction such as lazy yellow/orange flames (instead of crisp blue ones), error messages, unusual noises from your boiler, or dark and sooty stains around your gas appliances.

During cold spells, avoid blocking vents that are essential for the safe operation of your gas appliances.
